Should i remove extra water that leaked into sauerkraut? Making sauerkraut, i used bags to weigh cabbage down, bag leaked and now the cabbage is submerged under the water. Should i remove Ò€¦

Aside from it's appearance Ò€¦ It hasn't been below the brine for too long, 5-7 days at the most (i forget the last time i checked it, exactly). My brother, also a first-time sauerkraut maker, said to just add brine but i questioned this as Ò€¦
