Miriam is called a prophetess in exodus 15:20-21. After the miraculous crossing of the red sea, she led the israelite women in singing and dancing to praise god for their deliverance from egypt. Miriam is a prominent figure in the hebrew bible, known for her role as a prophetess and leader among the israelites during the exodus from egypt.

She is long afterward still recognized as one of the great leaders of israel in the wilderness (mic 6:4). She is called a prophetess and undoubtedly was highly regarded in israel long after her death.
