Sakura's character is the most human of all characters, her character represents human weakness, problems many young teenage girls face like insecurity of their appearance, body image, and have a รขโฌยฆ Sakura would have had just as much exposure to him as naruto.
Sakura's role in boruto or lack thereof is my personal reason why the boruto series does not fit into the naruto narrative. Sakura is a person that would directly involve herself in the current situation.
